Fort Howard
This image shows Major Granville Haller of the 4th US Infantry standing on a dock across from Fort Howard. He commissioned an artist to take this daguerreotype in 1851. The artist took the daguerreotype from the balcony of Thomas Green’s hotel, the Washington House.
