This image was taken in 1893 for the Chicago World Fair. It shows Alexander Clermont, one of the early mail carriers between Green Bay and Chicago after the Black Hawk War, in the uniform he would have worn from 1834-1836. He is also wearing the mail sack he would have used to carry the mail. He also carried mail from Green Bay to Portage City from 1936 until 1939.
