Fort Howard Cannon
This photograph shows the old Fort Howard cannon and limber ca 1910. The limber was the two wheeled cart designed to support the trail of the cannon. Soldiers would "limber" the cannon by lifting the trail of the gun and attaching it to the limber for transport. They would "unlimber" the cannon by separating the cannon from the limber to bring it into the position to fire.
Date: ca. 1910
