Moratorium Against the Vietnam War
Held in protest of United States involvement in the war, the Moratorium marchers braved wind, cold, and snow during the Green Bay walk on November 15, 1969. In Washington, D.C., half a million people converged on the Mall where Pete Seeger led them in singing John Lennon's song, "Give Peace a Chance." President Nixon let it be known that he was watching sports on TV in the White House that day.
