Holiday Shoppers
A familiar downtown sight in the 1960s was the candle shaped Salvation Army booth on Washington Street in Green Bay. The booth served a dual purpose as it kept volunteers protected from the elements in the days before shopping malls and allowed holiday shoppers the opportunity to contribute to the Christmas Fund (now the Red Kettle Campaign).
