Patrons of the Wednesday evening "Music on the Green" series saw unusual instruments in a history flavored concert by the First Brigade Band of Milwaukee. In this July 1982 photograph, band members play over-the-shoulder horns used in the Civil War; the instruments were aimed to the back so that soldiers marching behind a band could hear the music and keep in cadence.
