Logging Congress
Spectators lined Jefferson Street in the fall of 1961 as 3 generations of lumbermen pass by. The first Lake State Logging Congress was held in Houghton, Michigan, on November 1 & 2, 1945. In 1948 the Congress began the practice of adding different locations to encourage greater exposure.
