The Prison Ship, Success

In 1802, the barque Success was the last ship in a fleet that carried prisoners to the penal settlement in Australia. By 1853, the ship could not secure a return trip home because the crew deserted to partake in the gold rush. It was sold to entrepreneurs during the 1890s and was returned home to England as an exhibition ship.
