Prange Windows
A visit to downtown Green Bay in 1963 included viewing the animated holiday window display at the H.C. Prange (later Younkers) store on Washington Street. The tradition of special holiday display windows began in the 1920 and became more elaborate in the late 1940s when George Hanrahan was hired as Display Manager in 1946. After Christmas each year he would travel to Marshall Field's in Chicago to buy their old window displays. The Neville Public Museum continues the tradition with its Holiday Memories exhibit; check the museum's website for details.
