German Bathing Club

Members of the bathing club (later known as the Green Bay Bathing Club) take time out for a photograph during one of their excursions to the second lighthouse on Green Bay. On Wednesday afternoons in summer, the club boarded one the Denessen boats, the Nettie, at the Cherry Street dock with sandwiches, a barrel of beer and bathing equipment. The club flourished from 1898 to 1903.
