Inauguration of Woodrow Wilson

Crowds gather around the Capital for the inauguration of Woodrow Wilson as 28th President of the United States on March 4, 1913. One day earlier crowds gathered in the area for the first official protest for women’s suffrage. According to the event program, the Woman Suffrage Procession was “a march in a spirit of protest against the present political organization of society, from which women are excluded.”
